Dayton Gems Fall To The Muskegon Lumberjacks 3 - 2

The Gems headed to L.C. Walker Arena in Muskegon for an action packed game against the 2nd place Lumberjacks. Both teams held their own til the close of the first when Mike Vaskivuo scored on a powerplay aided by Corey Couturier and Mike Hartung.

At 5:45 into the second Dayton's Matt Auffrey brought the Gems lead to 2 and less than a minute later Muskegon found the net for there 1st goal.Theperiod saw a combined 66 minutes of penalties - 1/3 of which belonged to the Gems.

The 'Jacks wasted no time in the third with less than a minute gone they tied it up and scored again to take the lead. Muskegon would hold Dayton to take the game 3 - 2. The Gems record is now 16 - 18 - 3 - 1.

Wednesday, January 20this$1 Beer night when the Port Huron Icehawks land at Hara the puck drops at 7pm,

January 19th (Tuesday)have lunch with the Gems! Brixx on East 1st (across from 5th - 3rd field) is the place to be. Join the players beginning at from 12 Noon!

The team will also be attending the Toughman contest (as guests) on January 22 and 23rd at Hara. The winner of the contest will be invited to attend the Gems game on Sunday, January 24th when the Gems take on the Quad City Mallardsfor their first visit to Hara at 5pm.

All adult tickets only $10. Student and Childrens tickets $7. Groups are welcome and parking is free.
