Dayton Gems Fall To Port Huron Icehawks 4:1

In the third meeting between the Gems and Icehawks Port Huron prevail at McMorran Arena 4:1.The Icehawks controlled the 1st period with Mike Kinnie (the IHL's leading scorer) and Derek Patrosso both finding the mark in the first 10 minutes. Port Huron's Mike Gershon scored his 1st IHL goal before the Gems answered. With less than 2 minutes left in the 2nd stanza Dayton's Danny LaPointe put the Gems on the board assisted by John Snowden and A.J. MacLean bringing the talley to 3:1. The Icehawks Patrosso would finish the scoring during a Port Huron powerplay making the final score 4:1. Gems record is now: 6-6-3-0.

Hockey returns to Hara tomorrow for more Generals vs Gems rivalry continues at 5pm. Bring the family to enjoy mascot night. Arrive early and bring your camera as there will be mascots around every corner. Fans can meet & cheer on their favorites as the mascots take the ice for a not to be missed dodgeball game. Joining the fun will the the Pizza acrobatics by The Flying Pizza.

This is the kick off for Thanksgiving week with the Gems. Fans may make a donation of a non-perishable for The Foodbank and their admission will be reduced to only $5. Hara will be waiving the parking fee for all games during Thanksgiving week.

Promotions continue Wednesday with Dollar Beer Wednesday (all Wednesdays will be Dollar Beers through out the season.) when the Gems take on the Bloomington Prairie Thunder.

Friday, as the Gems strive to streak the Flint Generals it's a night for Wizards and Muggles - Harry Potter Night. Prizes will be awarded for best Harry Potter character costume.
