Dayton Gems Beat First Place Muskegon Lumberjacks In Overtime

The Gems took home ice at Hara Arena tonight against the Muskegon Lumberjacks. The Gems held the 'jacks' until after the halfway point of the 1st period when Muskegon's Robertson put the puck in for the 1st goal of the evening. The Gems would answer in the 2nd on a shorthanded score by Tim Hartung assisted by Corey Couturier and Adam Maccarone. It would take the Lumberjacks almost 7 minutes to take a 2-1 lead. In the 3rd the Gems' A.J. MacLean would tie the game at 2-2, 11:41 into the period with the help of Hartung and Couturier. It took Dayton only 1:59 to take the lead again when MacLean would score for the second time this evening with assists from his line mates Couturier and Hartung. Muskegon tied it up with less than 4 minutes left in the period and the game went into overtime. It took the Gems only 37 seconds to sew up the game when Captain Greg Labenski scored an unassisted goal to win the game for Dayton 4 - 3.

On April 10th when the Gems meet the Fort Wayne Komets at Hara Arena for a 730pm face off the team will be auctioning this seasons away jerseys. Immediately following the game an auction will be held where you can bid on your favorite players.
