
Dawgs Will Play Military All-Stars In Exhibition Game

SAN DIEGO - The Surf Dawgs will play their lone exhibition game vs. the Military All-Stars at 7:05 p.m. on May 26 at Tony Gwynn Stadium. The game comes in the middle of San Diego's 11-day spring training session that goes from May 20 to May 31. San Diego will open their season on the road in Yuma, Ariz. when they visit the Scorpions on June 1 at 7:15 p.m.
The Military All-Stars, based in San Diego, are made up of some of the best players in the military, some of which have recently returned from Operation Iraqi Freedom. The effort to bring together some of the best players in the military is the first of its kind since before the Vietnam War. The military team will also be taking on other Golden Baseball League teams throughout its 2006 schedule including the Yuma Scorpions and Long Beach Armada.
Military members who are looking to attend this game can purchase two-for-one tickets with proper identification at the Tony Gwynn Stadium box office. Throughout the season, members of the military, with proper identification, can buy two-for-one tickets on Military Monday's sponsored by KSON 97.3 FM and 92.1 FM.
San Diego's first home game will come on the first Military Monday of the season, June 5, when the Yuma Scorpions make their first visit of the year to San Diego. First pitch is slated for 7:05 p.m.
