David Tremblay Named the ADT CHL Goaltender of the Week

Toronto - The Canadian Hockey League announced today that Gatineau Olympiques goaltender David Tremblay is the ADT CHL Goaltender of the Week for the week ending Sunday March 12 after helping his club go 3-0 and extend their winning streak to four games.

Tremblay, a native of Ottawa, Ontario posted a goals against average of 1.30 and a save percentage of .955 last week while earning three wins heading into the final stretch of the season. Last Wednesday, Tremblay backstopped his team to a 4-2 victory, making 26 saves to earn his twenty-fifth win of the season. Two days later, the Olympiques netminder stopped all three shooters in a shootout to earn first star honours in a 2-1 victory. Finally on Sunday, Tremblay turned away 29 shots in a 4-1 win over Victoriaville. The Olympiques currently sit fourth in the Western Division standings and trail Rouyn-Noranda by only one point for third.

Each week during the regular season, the CHL will recognize the ADT CHL Goaltender of the Week and will present the ADT CHL Goaltender of the Year Award to the CHL's top netminder at the conclusion of the 2005-06 season.
