Wilmington Blue Rocks News Release

Wilmington, DE - The Carolina League has announced that Wilmington Blue Rocks catcher Kevin David is the Carolina League Player of the Week for May 14-20. The Rocks' backstop had quite the week at the plate, going 8-for-14 (.571) with a double, a home run, six RBIs, two runs scored, a walk, and a stolen base. David's week was highlighted by a two-run walk-off home run with two outs in the ninth inning against the Myrtle Beach Pelicans on Friday night. David is the first Blue Rock this season to receive such accolades from the Carolina League.

David was a 19th-round selection of the Kansas City Royals in 2010. Coming into Monday night's contest, David is hitting .267 in 30 games with two home runs and 14 RBIs for the season. The Baton Rouge, LA native is doing his part defensively as well. He has thrown out 13 of 35 (37.1%) potential base stealers this season, good enough for fifth in the Carolina League. His .996 fielding percentage leads all CL receivers.

Be sure to come out to Frawley Stadium this season as we celebrate 20 years of Wilmington Blue Rocks baseball. The Blue Rocks begin a three-game set with the Potomac Nationals starting on Monday night at 6:35 p.m. For ticket information, please call 302-888-BLUE or visit bluerocks.com.
