Omaha Lancers News Release

OMAHA, NE. - The Omaha Lancers of the United States Hockey League (USHL) are proud to announce that Defenseman, David Posma has committed to play division one college hockey at American International College (AIC).

Posma, 20, of Pomona, New York made his debut with the Lancers on December 15th, 2023 after coming back to junior hockey from a year and a half at Niagara University (NCAA DI). While at Niagara, Posma played in 52 games and tallied eight points (1G-7A-8P). A point total he was nearly able to replicate in just 17 USHL games. As heading into the final weekend of the 2023-24 regular season, the defenseman sits at seven points (1G-6A-7P).

The only USHL experience the blueliner had coming into Omaha was one game played with the Ceder Rapids RoughRiders in the 2021-22 season before heading into his second stint with the New Jersey Jr. Titans of the North American Hockey League (NAHL). A season where Posma would represent as an alternate captain. He played 86 games with New Jersey and racked up an impressive 51 points as a defenseman (13G-38-51P) over the course of his two seasons.

AIC finished the 2023-24 season with an overall record of 20-16-4. Good for fifth place in the Atlantic Hockey Association (AHA) and a first round bye in the AHA tournament.

Posma is set to attend AIC in the fall of 2024.
