Spokane Shock News Release
The Spokane Shock will be holding an open tryout for the 2007 Shock Dance Team on February 3rd at 9 AM at their new practice facility, 3212 North Eden Road.
The final round of the tryouts will be held at the Big Easy Concert House, 919 West Sprague, on February 9th at 7 PM. The finals will be open to the public (all ages) with a $5 admission fee.
Once again, the Shock Dance Team will be directed by Sabrina Chaudhry, a former NFL cheerleader and current Dance Team Director for the NBA's Seattle Sonics.
Prospective dancers can register by completing the registration form available at www.spokaneshock.com and paying a $25 registration fee. The team will be comprised of 12-15 members and will dance at all home games as well as select appearances throughout the community.
"We had a phenomenal Dance Team last year, and there's no doubt in my mind that next year's squad will be even better," Chaudhry said.
The preliminary round of the tryouts will begin with an orientation, after which Chaudhry will teach the applicants a short hip-hop routine. The participants will then perform the routine for Chaudhry and a panel of judges. Those who are selected to advance to the finals will be interviewed by Chaudhry and taught another routine that will be performed on February 9th. All members of last year's team interested in returning to the team will be required to try out again.
Last season, 70 prospective dancers attended the first open tryout on the way to selecting the final 14 members of the Dance Team. For more information please visit www.spokaneshock.com.
