Danbury Whalers News Release
The Danbury Whalers have announced that Forward Andrew Willock has rejoined the team and will be in the lineup this weekend.
Willock was with the Fayetville FireAntz of the Southern Professional Hockey League. For the 2011-12 season, Willock had 6 goals 9 assists and 71 penalty minutes.
Last season with the Danbury Whalers, Willock registered 19 goals, 19 assists and had 159 PIMs in 38 games. Willock played in one playoff game for the Whalers last year with a goal and an assist. Willock was suspended for Game 1 of the playoffs by the FHL but returned to the ice for Game 2 in helping the Whalers to a 5-2 victory over Brooklyn. The following week Willock was recalled by the Elmira Jackals of the ECHL and was not with the team for games 3, 4, & 5.
Head Coach, Phil Esposito commented, "We just acquired a player who can be a real difference maker. Andrew Willock is the type player that skates through a wall and gets things done. That's Danbury Whalers hockey."
