The Trashers will face Elmira this Wednesday before hosting the Frostbite this Friday night and Richmond on Saturday evening. Both games will start at 7:30pm.

TRASHERS ERUPT FOR SEVEN UNANSWERED AS DANBURY BEATS ADIRONDACK 7-2 February 5, 2006

DANBURY, CT--Jeff Daw scored a pair of goals and finished with five points while Donny Grover had a four point night on two goals as the Danbury Trashers overcame a 2-0 deficit to crush Adirondack 7-2 before a sold out crowd of 3,005 at the Danbury Ice Arena on Sunday afternoon.

The Frostbite outshot Danbury 20-6 in the opening period but didn't score until less than a minute remaining as Sly Cloutier redirected a Bob Rapoza shot past Sly Daigle to give Adirondack a 1-0 lead. Meanwhile, Adirondack scored again as Ryan Bennett's third of the season came on the power play just 1:08 into the second period.

Danbury started to fight back at the 4:27 mark, as J.M. Daoust scored the first of four Danbury power play goals to cut the Frostbite lead to 2-1. Two minutes later, Fred Belanger banged in a shot past Derek Gustafson to tie the score at 2-2.

Prior to Belanger's goal, Danny Stewart and Dmitri Suur dropped the gloves in a lengthy battle that drew in the sold out Trashers crowd.

Dave MacIsaac gave Danbury the lead at the 11:18 mark as he took a pass from Jeff Daw on the face off and beat Gustafson from the point to give the Trashers a 3-2 lead just four seconds after Blue Bennefield was called for a slashing penalty.

Danbury scored a shorthanded goal at the 19:17 mark as Grover knocked down a clearing attempt by Gustafson in the corner and scored into an open net to give Danbury a 4-2 lead. The Trashers added another with 2.2 seconds left in the period as Jeff Daw took a pass from Grover in front with Danbury on a 5 on 3 power play after Chris Mei and P.L. Leblond were whistled for separate penalties at the 19:47 mark.

Daw scored his second of the night at the 1:18 mark as he backhanded a shot past Kris Tebbs, who came in to relieve Gustafson after the second period. Grover then scored again at the 6:50 mark to give Danbury a 7-2 lead.

Later in the period, Dave MacIsaac fought Leblond at the 10:37 mark as Leblond was issued both a game and gross misconduct afterwards.

Daigle stopped 37 of 39 shots in the win while Gustafson and Tebbs combined to save 31 of 38. Danbury extends their lead to seven points in the UHL East over the Frostbite.

TEBBS STOPS 32 AS TRASHERS FALL TO FROSTBITE 3-2 February 4, 2006

DANBURY, CT--Kris Tebbs was woeful in his first five games against Danbury this season, as he posted an 0-5 mark, but on Saturday night he saved 32 of 34 shots as Adirondack defeated the Trashers 3-2 before 4,070 at the Glens Falls Civic Center.

Adirondack scored quickly to start the game as Hugo Belanger netted his 19th of the season on the power play to give the Frostbite a 1-0 lead by the 2:29 mark. It was the only goal of the opening frame as the Trashers were out shot 12-7.

Mike Berry then started off the second quickly as he redirected a pass from Belanger past Daigle at the 1:21 mark to give Adirondack a 2-0 lead. Danbury outshot Adirondack 12-7 in the second, but were unable to get on the board.

J.M. Daoust then netted his 18th of the season to finally give the Trashers a goal as he fired in a shot past Tebbs at the 6:25 mark of the 3rd on the power play to cut Adirondack's lead to 2-1. However, Berry scored his second of the night at the 8:59 mark to once again put the Frostbite lead at two goals.

With Adirondack on the power play following a Daoust interference penalty, Ryan Barnes scored his 4th of the season as he knocked the puck off of Tebbs' legpad at the 17:29 mark to pull Danbury to within a goal, but the Trashers were unable to muster the game-tying goal as Tebbs stopped David Hymovitz in the final moments to seal the win.

TRASHERS FALL 3-2 IN SHOOTOUT AT RICHMOND February 3, 2006

RICHMOND, VA--Bill Vandemeer's game-tying goal came at the 12:12 mark of the 3rd period as it set the stage for Richmond, who came from behind to top Danbury in a shootout 3-2 on Friday night from the Richmond Coliseum.

Danbury and Richmond traded goals over the course of the game as Donny Grover's 4th gave Danbury a 1-0 lead at the 16:42 mark of the opening period.

Richmond's Joey Bastien tied the game at 1-1 with a power play goal at 13:54 of the second period, on assists from Dan Vandemeer and Mike Oliviera.

J.M. Daoust netted his 17th of the season at the 6:50 mark of the final period as he snapped a shot past Richmond netminder Doug Groenestege to give Danbury a 2-1 lead before Bill Vandemeer knocked in a rebound past Jayme Platt at 12:12.

Danbury pulled Platt for the shootout and went to Sly Daigle, who only stopped one of three shots faced as Oliveira and Bill Vandemeer both scored. The Trashers were unable to get anything past Groenestege in four shots.

Platt stopped 29 of 31 shots in regulation while Groenstege saved 30 of 32.

TRASHERS PREVAIL 4-3 IN SHOOTOUT WIN OVER MOTOR CITY January 31, 2006

DANBURY, CT--Despite surrendering a two-goal lead in the final period, the Danbury Trashers were able to defeat the surging Motor City Mechanics with a 4-3 shootout win thanks to an outstanding effort from Sly Daigle and a game-winner from Jamie Thompson before a crowd of 1,941 on Tuesday night at the Danbury Ice Arena.

A hard fought first period finally resulted in a Danbury goal as Drew Omicioli netted his 25th of the season from Shawn Collymore and Mike Omicioli at the 16:47 mark.

Danbury would add to their lead at the 1:18 mark of the second period as David Hymovitz scored a power play goal from Jeff Daw and J.M. Daoust. Motor City's Greg Bullock cut the Trashers lead in half with a breakaway goal at the 8:10 mark, as Motor City outshot the Trashers 20-8 in the second period.

Mike Omicioli then helped the Trashers regain their two-goal advantage with his 10th of the season at the 2:13 mark, but goals from Scott Dobben and Ryan Van Buskirk later in the period helped to tie the game with 1:23 remaining.

Shawn Collymore and Jamie Thompson scored in the shootout, while Daigle stopped four of five shooters as only Vlad Serov was able to send one past the Danbury netminder.

Daigle stopped 43 of 46 in regulation while Rod Branch saved 23 of 26 for the Mechanics.
