
Dan Shwam to Return as Pioneers Head Coach

The Elmira Pioneers are proud to announce that Dan Shwam has agreed to return as Head Coach for the club in 2011.
Last year Shwam led the team to a franchise record 27 wins and the NYCBL West Division championship. In recognition of his outstanding work the NYCBL named him Coach of the Year. Before he returned to Elmira, Dan spent 17 years managing independent minor league teams. He has amassed 694 wins on the professional level and has been at the helm for 3 league championship teams, 6 regular season titles and 14 playoff appearances. He was named Manger of the Year on three occasions.
"We are delighted to have Dan back this season. We expect that he will be the Pioneers skipper for many years to come." stated team President Jeff Kunion. "Pioneer fans gave me such a heartfelt welcome last year. Coming back was even better than I anticipated. I can't wait to start the season and take that final step to the championship.", said Shwam.
"There is no one who is better suited to led the Pioneers than Dan Shwam." added General Manager Pat McKernan.
