Dale Mitchell named CHL Player of the Week

Toronto - The Canadian Hockey League announced today that Dale Mitchell of the Oshawa Generals is the CHL Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday January 20 after scoring five goals and 10 points in three games.

Mitchell, a 17-year-old native of Mississauga, Ontario, scored three goals and two assists and was the first star in a 7-5 win over the Windsor Spitfires on January 19. After being held off the score sheet in an 8-4 loss to the Belleville Bulls on January 20, Mitchell responded with another five point effort, scoring two goals and three assists in an 8-6 win over the Toronto St. Michael's Majors on January 21. The second year forward has 31 goals and 54 points in 44 games this season.

Colton Yellow Horn of the Tri-City Americans was the WHL nominee after scoring three goals and four points in two games and Jerome Samson of the Val d'Or Foreurs was the QMJHL player of the week after scoring six goals and nine points in three games.
