ALL-STARS, VEGAS STYLE: The inaugural Gillette D-League All-Star Game in association with 24 Hour Fitness is scheduled for Saturday Feb. 17 on Center Court at NBA All-Star Jam Session at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino. Tip off is scheduled for 2 p.m. PT, immediately following the practices for the NBA All-Stars. The game will air live on NBA TV. Click on D-LEAGUE.com for more details.
STAMPEDING INTO FIRST: The Idaho Stampede jumped from third to first in the weekly D-League power rankings after going 3-0 last week and moving back into the top spot in the Western Division. Coach Bryan Gates' club is 14-3 since New Year's Day. Rounding out the top five are Dakota, Colorado, Fort Worth and Sioux Falls. Check out six through 12 at D-LEAGUE.com.
ALL-STAR MO: Albuquerque forward Dijon Thompson will be taking positive momentum into the Gillette D-League All-Star Game in association with 24 Hour Fitness after converting all 11 of his field goal attempts and scoring 24 points in the Thunderbirds' win over Arkansas on Tuesday.
THEY SAID IT: "I told Cedric (Bozeman) since we spent four years together in college (at UCLA), that we needed to go out before the All-Star break with something big. He had a triple-double and I went 11-for-11, so I guess we did that." ... Albuquerque forward Dijon Thompson told the Albuquerque Journal following Tuesday's game.
