HALFWAY THERE: With Sunday's games the 2005-06 D-League season will be to the halfway point.
WHAT IF the season ended today, how would the playoff field look? Florida would host Austin and Fort Worth would entertain Albuquerque in a single-game, sudden-death semi-final. The two winners would play at the arena of the highest remaining seed, with the same sudden-death format, for the title.
THEY SAID IT: "It's been a great experience. I've been down in the D-League playing and staying in shape and trying to do what I can do. It's different in the D-League being a scorer and defender. Here it's primarily making hustle plays on defense." Melvin Sanders, currently on a 10-day contract with the Spurs, told the San Antonio News-Express on his D-League experience with the Fayetteville Patriots.
