TODAY'S SERIES INFO: T-Birds lead 4-2. Albuquerque won last meeting, 97-93, on Friday.
QUOTE OF THE DAY: "I'm not going to lie to you, I've seen enough of them. I know we can't play them too much after this. We definitely know each other and they have done a nice job against us." ...Tulsa coach Joey Meyer told the Tulsa World prior to a two-game trip to Albuquerque to play the T-Birds for the sixth and seventh times in 11 games.
SLIDE OVER ROCKERS: Florida's victory over Fayetteville, combined with Roanoke's win over Arkansas, lifted the Flame into first place in the league standings. At 6-2, coach Jeff Malone's club is a mere .050 percentage points better than the RimRockers at 7-3.
NEW SEASON, NEW RESULTS: On December 18 of last season the Florida Flame was 1-6 and six games out first place.
OT, ONCE AGAIN: For the second consecutive night Fort Worth and Austin played to overtime, and for the second consecutive night, the home-standing Flyers came away with the victory, this time on the strength of Ime Udoka's double-double (28 pts, 11 reb).
STREAKS SNAPPED: Roanoke's 127-94 win over Arkansas on Saturday snapped a five-game RimRockers winning streak and a three-game Arkansas win streak over the Dazzle.
TODAY ON NBA TV: The Roanoke at Tulsa game played on December 10, will air on NBA TV 2 p.m. ET.
I DON'T WANT TO LEAVE: Donta Smith, on assignment from the Atlanta Hawks to the Arkansas RimRockers, averaged 27.0 points and converted 30-of-48 (.625) field goal tries over a three-game stretch at Roanoke that began on December 14.
MAKE MINE A DOUBLE: NBA-assigned players Peter John Ramos and Pape Sow lead the D-League in double-doubles with six each. Ramos is on assignment to the Roanoke Dazzle from the Washington Wizards and Sow has been designated to the Arkansas RimRockers from the Toronto Raptors.
ASSIGNMENT INFO...Each NBA team can designate two players in either their first or second year to their D-League affiliate...A player may be designated up to three times in a season...An assigned player continues to earn his NBA salary and is included on his NBA team's roster (Inactive List) while playing in the D-League.
D-LEAGUE CARES: The Arkansas RimRockers will visit the Arkansas Children's hospital on Monday, taking part in various activities with the kids.
MLK SHOWCASE: The 2006 MLK Showcase, featuring every D-league team in eight games over two days, is scheduled for January 15-16 at the Crown Coliseum in Fayetteville, N.C. Game times each day are 11 a.m., 2 p.m., 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. ET.
