
D-Fenders Bite Vipers To Extend Win Streak To Three

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. - Six players scored in double figures for the Los Angeles D-Fenders as they defeated the Rio Grande Valley Vipers 132-126 victory at the Toyota Sports Center on Monday night. With the win, the D-Fenders (5-2) extended their win streak to three games and snapped a four game losing streak versus the Vipers (4-2).
Jamaal Tinsley controlled the D-Fenders well-rounded offense as he handed out 15 assists to break the team individual record for assists in a game (13) that he set against Reno (11/28/11). One of his assists came with 1:41 remaining off a Courtney Fortson 3-pointer to extend the D-Fenders lead to nine. Fortson, who provided a scoring surge late, finished 24 points on 7-of-14 shooting and seven assists off the bench.
Los Angeles saw another impressive scoring output from Elijah Millsap (28 points on 11-of-19 shooting) while Zach Andrews finished with 20 points on 8-of-11 shooting and 13 rebounds to post his second straight double-double. Brandon Costner dropped 19 points on 7-of-12 shooting, Brian Hamilton contributed 18 points and 10 rebounds, and Jordan Brady chipped in 12 points off the bench to round out the D-Fenders players in double figures.
Rio Grande Valley was led by Marshall Brown's game-high 29 points on 10-of-15 shooting and seven rebounds. Stanley Asumnu tallied 21 points and eight rebounds while Terrel Harris added 20 points. The Vipers had to play the fourth quarter without head coach Nick Nurse, who was ejected with 55 seconds to go in the third after he picked up his second technical foul. The D-Fenders return to action to finish their two-game set against the Vipers on Wednesday, December 7 at TSC. The game will be available at 7:00 pm on Futurecast.
