
D.C. United Signs Lance Rozeboom

Washington, D.C. (March 7, 2012) - D.C. United announced today that the club has signed 22-year-old midfielder Lance Rozeboom. The 2012 Supplemental Draft pick joins United having completed preseason camps in Fla., Ariz., and S.C. Rozeboom was selected by D.C. United in the second round (26th overall) of the 2012 MLS Supplemental Draft from the University of New Mexico.
"We're pleased to add Lance to our roster," said D.C. United General Manager Dave Kasper. "He performed well during preseason, is able to play a number of positions on the field, and provides additional depth to our roster."
Rozeboom spent four years a the University of New Mexico and was a key member of the team's undefeated 2011 season. The midfielder started each of the team's 22 matches last year, collecting three goals and two assists, as the Lobos finished 18-0-4. As a freshman, Rozeboom started six of 16 games played, before starting 66 consecutive matches beginning during his sophomore season through the end of his senior campaign. He finished his career at New Mexico with six goals and five assists in 78 games (68 starts).
D.C. United opens its 17th MLS season this Saturday, March 10 against Sporting Kansas City at RFK Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
