D.C. United Charity Game Against El Salvador National Team Confirmed

Washington, D.C. (June 2, 2010) - D.C. United announced today its charity match against the El Salvador National Team will go on as scheduled Saturday, June 19. The match is set to kick off at 7:30 p.m. ET at RFK Stadium. Proceeds from the game will benefit the Spanish Catholic Center and the club's charitable arm, United for D.C.
Tickets for the match are on sale now at dcunited.com and all TicketMaster locations. Advance prices will be $30 at the Mezzanine level, $25 at the VIP Midfield level and $22 for General Admission. Day of game tickets will be available for $40 at the Mezzanine level, $30 for the VIP Midfield level and $27 for General Admission. D.C. United planholders should contact their sales representative for special ticket discounts and reserve seating options, as this game is not a part of United ticket packages.
El Salvador's Head Coach Jose Luis Rugamas also announced the preliminary 30-man roster for the game. The roster includes former United player Eliseo Quintanilla and current MLS players Arturo Alvarez (San Jose Earthquakes), Julio Martinez (Chicago Fire), Osael Romero (Chivas USA), Ramon Sanchez (San Jose Earthquakes) and Deris Umanzor (Chicago Fire).
The Spanish Catholic Center is raising funds to relocate its Langley Park Medical Clinic in Silver Spring, MD to the Cardinal McCarrick Center in Wheaton, MD in order to improve access to high-quality, holistic, patient-centered health care for medically underserved communities. With the new location, the Center hopes to provide health services to more than 4,000 people a year.
United for D.C. operates three signature programs: United Reads which supports childhood literacy and healthy lifestyles in six D.C. public schools in Wards 1, 6, and 8; Kicks for Kids which provides the game-day experience to thousands of inner-city, under-served youth each season; and United Soccer Club which provides free after-school soccer programming to disadvantaged youth in 12 sites throughout the greater D.C. area.
