
D.C. United Announces Initial 2014 Preseason Plans

Washington, D.C. (October, 11 2013) - D.C. United today announced the club's initial preseason plans ahead of the 2014 Major League Soccer season. The Black-and-Red will travel to Bradenton, Fla., for the second consecutive year for training camp at IMG Academy from Jan. 29-Feb. 13. Following that stint, the team will be participating in the Carolina Challenge Cup, which will be held in Charleston, S.C. from Feb. 22-March 1. United will arrive in Charleston, S.C., on Feb. 20 and depart home to Washington, D.C., on March 2.
Winners of three previous Carolina Challenge Cups (2010, 2011, 2012), United will be joined by Seattle Sounders FC, the Houston Dynamo and Charleston Battery (USL PRO) in the 11th annual installment of the pre-season tournament. Dates and game times of the week-long round-robin tournament will be announced at a later date.
