Cyclones' Veterans Vanderbreggen and Rollins Returning to Pee Dee

July 12, 2006 - SPHL (SPHL)
Twin City Cyclones News Release

Mark Richards, Head Coach and General Manager of the SPHL's Pee Dee Cyclones, has announced the return of Cyclones' defenseman Josh Vanderbreggen and forward Geoff Rollins for the Cyclones' highly anticipated second season in the SPHL. "Josh has a tremendous upside; he's a big rough defenseman who plays with an edge. Geoff is a good leader, he leads by example with a great desire to compete," Coach Richards commented.

Vanderbreggen, the 6'-0" 190 pound defenseman out of Milton, Ontario posted a total of 153 penalty minutes for the Cyclones in 2005-2006 in 18 games played. The twenty-one year old was acquired by the Cyclones last season from the ECHL's Columbia Inferno. Coach Richards is looking for Vanderbreggen to grow into his role as a steady defensemen this season.

Geoff Rollins contributed 24 points to the Cyclones last season in 27 games played. The twenty-four year old wingman from Okotoks, Alberta came to the Pee Dee last year from the SPHL's Jacksonville Barracudas. Coach Richards is expecting Rollins to continue as a physical forward and an all-around better center.
