Cyclones Top 'Snakes', 4-3
With a full slate of games this week, the Cyclones began in Columbus on Tuesday night. Greatly needing to gain some ground in the standings, Twin City fought off the Cottonmouths by a final score of 4-3.
The first period saw no scoring from either team. However, Bogdan Rudenko got the Cyclones on the board first in the second period. Donald Melnyk would follow soon after to give Twin City a 2-0 lead. Columbus got on the board to narrow the gap, but Taylor Hustead continued his latest scoring streak, adding another for the 'Clones to put the score at 3-1. Before the end of the period, Columbus got a shot past Cyclones' netminder Terry Dunbar. Heading into the final period, Twin City retained the 3-2 lead.
Josh Piro lit the lamp for Twin City at 11:51 to, again, go up by two goals. The Cottonmouths threatened late with a goal from Craig Stahl, but were unable to catch the Cyclones. Final score 4-3.
Terry Dunbar recorded 43 saves on the night.
