Cyclones take down Ice Bears

The Pee Dee Cyclones returned to home ice Friday night looking to give the fans a win. Due to all-star performances by Geoff Rollins and Allan Sirois, the Cyclones were able to hold on to defeat the Ice Bears. The first period belonged to Knoxville, with three goals coming within just minutes of each other. Two of those goals belonged to Ice Bears' Rob Flynn, the other Mike Craigen. At the end of the first, Knoxville was up 3-0.

Pee Dee came alive in the second period, converting on three power plays to score three goals in the first ten minutes of the stanza. Knoxville answered at the 14:13 mark, but Pee Dee's Daryl Moore lit the lamp at the 14:57 mark to tie the score at four apiece.

Knoxville struck first in the third period, adding two goals. But, the Cyclones were not finished yet. Pee Dee's Geoff Rollins scored two back-to-back goals, recording his second hat trick of the season, and Sirois added another on the night to cap the win for the Cyclones, 6-7.

The Cyclones will host an open skate with the players on Saturday night from 7:00PM-9:00PM at the Florence Civic Center. Come out and join your favorite players on the ice! Admission is only $2.00 to rent skates, free for those who bring their own.
