CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Cincinnati Cyclones, proud affiliate of the NHL's Florida Panthers and Nashville Predators, announced today that forwards Joe Devin and Garrett Wilson have been reassigned to the club by the San Antonio Rampage of the American Hockey League. In a separate transaction, the Milwaukee Admirals have recalled forward Joel Champagne. Also, the Cyclones have released forwards Martin Spanhel and Rob Schriner.
Devin, a Scituate, Massachusetts native, returns to the Cyclones after another stint with the Rampage. This year at the AHL level, he has logged 17 games with a pair of points (1 goal, 1 assist). With the Cyclones in 2011-12, Devin is tied for the team-lead in game-winning goals (2) and has a total of four points.
Wilson has been among the Cyclones leading scorers all season long and currently ranks fourth on the team with 14 points (8 goals, 6 assists). Prior getting called up to San Antonio, the rookie forward had posted points in three straight games.
Champagne heads back to Milwaukee after a one-game stint with the Cyclones. Last night he earned a season-high three-point night (1 goal, 2 assists) in Cincinnati's 6-3 win over Greenville. Overall this year with the Cyclones, Champagne has eight points in six games.
Devin, Wilson and the rest of the Cyclones will embark on a three-game road trip this weekend beginning tomorrow night in Wheeling followed by a pair of road battles against the Elmira Jackals. Friday's game against the Nailers can be heard on the Cyclones Radio Network (1050-AM, America One) beginning at 7:20pm.
