
Allen York Returns to Express

Hoffman Estates, IL - The Chicago Express, proud member of the ECHL and proud affiliate of the NHL's Columbus Blue Jackets, announced today that G Allen York has been reassigned to the Express by Columbus (NHL) from Springfield (AHL). The Express have also loaned D Dan Henningson to the Rockford IceHogs and G Peter Mannino has been recalled to St. John's (AHL) by Winnipeg (NHL).
York comes back to Chicago for his third stint with the club. He played his first game for the Express on November 19, and his 38-save effort helped boost Chicago to a 2-1 win over Cincinnati. After being recalled immediately after the game, York came back to the Express on December 7th, and immediately played three straight games as the Express took five of six possible points against the Kalamazoo Wings. On the season, York has played in four NHL games with the Blue Jackets, five games with Springfield, and seven games with Chicago. While with the Express, the 6-3, 190 pound goaltender has a 2.98 GAA, .903 save percentage, and a 4-2-1-0 record.
Henningson has been loaned to the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League, marking his second call-up of the season. Henningson appeared in five games with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins from December 6 through December 21, earning an assist, two PIM, and a +2 rating. With Chicago, Henningson has played 23 games, scoring a goal and adding two assists along with 10 PIM.
Mannino has been recalled to the St. John's IceCaps of the AHL. He was recently assigned to the Express by Winnipeg (NHL) from St. John's, and has not yet appeared in a game for Chicago. The 6-1, 195 pound goaltender has played 138 games in his pro career earning a 68-43-9 record with a 2.84 GAA and .905 save percentage.
The Express continue at the Sears Centre this Friday and Saturday, against the Reading Royals. Friday night is a Dollar Friday, featuring one dollar beers and one dollar hot dogs. Saturday night is Chicago Express hat giveaway night, courtesy of the Daily Herald. Puck drops at 7:30 for both games.
