Cyclones Rally to Defeat Cottonmouths, 7-6

The Cyclones started the month of February with a bang, defeating the Columbus Cottonmouths by a score of 7-6 Friday night at the LJVM-Coliseum Annex.

Twin City was down 3-1 after the end of the first. Scoring the lone goal for the Cyclones was Allan Sirois.

The Cyclones stormed out in the second period, as Sirois struck again with another goal, as did John Gurskis with two goals, and Steve Obelnicki with one of his own. However, the Cottonmouths got three goals past Twin City netminder Kevin Druce to put the score at 6-5.

The final period saw more scoring from the Cyclones, as they added two more goals and kept Columbus from lighting the lamp, creating a total of five unanswered goals. Tyler Wooddisse and Jason Cassells scored the final two goals for the Cyclones to seal the 7-6 victory.

Twin City will be back in action on Tuesday night as they will face the Huntsville Havoc. It's Tippin' Tuesday so take advantage of $1 drafts and $1 sodas! Game time is set for 7:30PM. For more information, contact the Cyclones at 336-721-1700!
