KELLY CUP EASTERN CONFERENCE QUARTERFINALS - GAME 3

TONIGHT'S MATCHUP: After a 72-game regular season of work, the Cincinnati Cyclones are one of 16 teams that have earned the right to vie for the 2013 Kelly Cup. Their quest for 16 wins officially begins tonight in Toledo as ECHL Coach of the Year Jarrod Skalde and his Cyclones battle the Walleye in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals.

SCOUTING THE WALLEYE: Nick Vitucci's club finished right behind the Cyclones in the North Division standings with a final record of 37-26-5-4 - good for the seventh seed in the Eastern Conference. Willie Coetzee was Toledo's leader in scoring during the regular season with 68 points (28 goals, 40 assists) in 64 games. Their captain Kyle Rogers finished second on the team with 46 tallies (15 goals, 31 assists) in 72 games - the only Walleye player to skate in all of the team's regular season contests. Rogers was tied for the lead in offense versus Cincinnati, notching six points in the eight meetings. Like most playoff teams, Toledo enjoyed great goaltending during the regular year. Kent Simpson was the leading net minder, amassing a 20-14-2-3 record and 2.36 goals-against average. He was 3-2-0 with a 2.00 GAA versus the Cyclones. Jordan Pearce, meanwhile, was 15-11-2-1 with a 2.76 GAA during his 2012-13 work and earned a 1-1-1 mark against Cincinnati.

Battle of Ohio: While it's the first time in the Walleye's existence that the teams have met in the postseason, the Cyclones battled the now-defunct Toledo Storm in the 2007 playoffs. That year, Cincinnati earned a three-game sweep, outscoring their opponents 14-4 in the process.

Leading by Example: Cyclones captain Mathieu Aubin was the team leader against the Walleye during the regular season, notching eight points (3g, 5a) in as many games. Aubin finished 2012-13 with 56 points.
