Cyclones Drop Another to FireAntz, 2-3

January 21, 2007 - Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) - Twin City Cyclones News Release

Wounded and weary after three games this past week, the Pee Dee Cyclones traveled to Fayetteville for their fourth game of the week. The Cyclones' hopes of gaining at least one win this weekend were shut-out by the FireAntz.

Pee Dee failed to get on the board in the first stanza. The FireAntz managed to get two shots past Cyclones' netminder Brad Buss to make the score 0-2 going into the first intermission.

Cyclones' forward Daryl Moore finally got Pee Dee on the board with a shot at the 7:32 mark of the second period. Goalie Brad Buss was able to prevent Fayetteville from adding any more points to their total by the end of the second, leaving the score at 1-2.

The FireAnts lit the lamp at the 8:22 mark of the third, but Cyclones' Geoff Rollins was able to connect with a powerplay goal at 14:51 to narrow the gap, 2-3. However, this would prove to be the last goal by Pee Dee for the evening, handing the FireAntz a 2-3 victory.
