Cyclones Announce Roster Changes
The Twin City Cyclones announced a few roster changes on Tuesday. Cyclones' defenseman Tyler Wooddisse was recalled by the Johnstown Chiefs of the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL). With the departure of Wooddisse, Twin City signed veteran defenseman Marcus Willy. Additionally, the Cyclones added goaltender Peter Vetri.
Wooddisse has received two call-ups to the ECHL this season, the first was to the Mississippi Sea Wolves.
Willy, the 29 year-old blueliner is no stranger to Winston-Salem, as he was a member of both the Winston-Salem Thunderbirds and the Winston-Salem Polar Twins. Willy played in 54 games and posted 32 points for the Thunderbirds. He recorded 34 points in 49 games with the Polar Twins.
Vetri, the 5'-10", 176 pound netminder, played college hockey for two seasons with the University of Massachusetts-Lowell. The twenty-three year old played in a combined 60 games and averaged a .902 save percentage. He was named as the Hockey East Rookie of the Year for 2004-05.
The Cyclones are back on the ice tonight at the LJVM-Coliseum Annex to host the Huntsville Havoc. It's Tippin' Tuesday so fans can take advantage of $1 drafts and $1 sodas. Game time is set for 7:30PM.
