Cyclones Add Defenseman Scott English for 2006-07

Pee Dee Cyclones Head Coach & Director of Hockey Operations, Mark Richards, has announced the addition of defenseman Scott English as the Southern Professional Hockey League team continues its preparations for the 2006-2007 season.

English, 24, played last season for the Brantford (Ontario) Blast in the Ontario Hockey Association Senior A League (also known as Major League Hockey). In twenty-six games, the 6'-0", 220 pound blue liner scored a goal and two assists while earning 143 penalty minutes. The Newmarket, Ontario native previously played for Memphis (for Mark Richards), Tulsa, and Fort Worth in the Central Hockey League during the 2003-04 and 2004-05 hockey seasons. In 114 games in the CHL, English scored six goals & three assists for nine points and added 637 penalty minutes.

"Scott English is eager to play professional hockey again in the south," said Cyclones coach Mark Richards. "It is a perfect fit for both of us. We needed a physical guy on defense and Scott wanted to play for me again."
