CyberRays waive Podhrasky to make roster room

San Jose CyberRays News Release
SAN JOSE (July 2, 2003) â Julie Podhrasky, the CyberRays No.3 goalkeeper, has been waived.
The roster move frees a space on the team's developmental roster for future addition of a field player during the WUSA season stretch run. With today's announcement of the remaining U.S. Women's National Team schedule leading into this fall's World Cup, the CyberRays face no more national team call-ups that will conflict with their WUSA schedule. Goalkeeper LaKeysia Beene is one of three WUSA keepers usually called up by national team coach April Heinrichs, and the likelihood of her departure required that the CyberRays keep three keepers on their 20-player roster.
Podhrasky, 22, is a native of Dallas, Texas and played college soccer for the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. She had not seen any action this season for the CyberRays, who picked her up as a free agent during the preseason. She was the reserve goalkeeper last season for the Carolina Courage.
