SAN JOSE (Oct. 10, 2002) – Two San Jose CyberRays players – Kim Clark and Theresa Wagner – will participate in the SALLY Games benefiting the Greater Sacramento Area Chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society on Saturday in Sacramento.

The SALLY Games (Soccer Against Leukemia and LYmphoma) are a one-day women's soccer tournament scheduled for the Cherry Island Soccer Complex beginning at 8 a.m. with finals scheduled to begin about 4:30 p.m. At the tournament, Clark, Wagner and players from the California Storm of the Women's Premier Soccer League will participate in a special noon presentation to children suffering from blood diseases.

``We're proud to participate in this event because it is a significant way our team and sport can contribute to the improvement of health and fitness in our community,'' said Marlene Bjornsrud, CyberRays general manager. ``The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is to be applauded for its efforts in staging this important women's soccer event.''

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society has raised more than $240 million to fund research targeting blood-related cancers – including leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma – since its founding in 1949. Leukemia is one of the leading disease killers of children, and lymphoma is the leading disease killer of men and women under age 35 in the United States.
