San Jose CyberRays News Release
SAN JOSE (Oct. 18, 2002) â San Jose CyberRays forward Kim Clark underwent successful surgery Thursday on her left ankle, which was originally injured in a May 26 game against the Washington Freedom.
Clark will miss the CyberRays off-season training camp Nov. 1-14, but is expected to be ready for the opening of preseason camp in March.
Dr. Martin Trieb and Dr. Joan Orloff performed surgery on Clark to repair a fracture at the ankle end of her left tibia (shin bone), remove a loose body from the ankle and free a tendon.
Clark appeared in eight CyberRays matches after being hurt in the 78th minute of the Washington game, the seventh game of the 2002 season. However, the ankle remained a problem for the rest of the season. She reinjured it in a June 15 game against the New York Power and June 29 against the Boston Breakers.
Clark, 25, from Cupertino, appeared in 15 matches last season, starting eight, and had one goal and four assists.
