
Cutters qualify for playoffs

HIGHLIGHTS: Williamsport qualified for post-season play for the fourth time in the last five years with a 4-3 win over the Staten Island Yankees Wednesday night. The win, the Cutters 7th in a row puts Williamsport at a season high 13 games over .500 (44-31). OF Brad Corley got things started in the 3rd inning when he hit an RBI single to right field that scored 1B Steven Pearce. Corley finished the game 3 for 4 with 1 RBI. DH James Boone also continued his hot hitting going 2 for 3 with a double. Williamsport received another strong outing by RHP Joe Bauserman (6-2) as he went 6.0 innings, giving up 3 hits, 1 run, and striking out 2. RHP Justin Vaclavik (0-1) got his team leading 9th save of the season. The Crosscutters will wrap up the regular season Thursday night at Bowman Field against the Yanks.
Williamsport will meet the SI Yankees in a best-of-three NY-P semifinal matchup beginning Saturday night at Bowman Field. Games 2 & 3 will be held in Staten Island. Crosscutter's playoff tickets will go on sale Thursday morning at 10am at the Cutters box office at Bowman Field. Fans may also order by phone at (570) 326-3389.
