Williamsport Crosscutters News Release
HIGHLIGHTS: The Williamsport Crosscutters fell to the Vermont Lake Monsters 4-2 in the final game of the three game series. The Lake Monster loaded the bases in the fourth inning, and brought in three runs off of Cutters starter Tyson Brummett. Williamsport got one back in the bottom half of the fourth when Matt Rizzotti drove in Freddy Glavis with a single. Aaron Seuss led off the fifth with a home run off of Brummett (1-3) for Vermont's final run. Williamsport had its best chance in the seventh when Michael Taylor and D'Arby Myers were hit by pitches and Mike Durant singled to load the bases. The Crosscutters only managed to bring one run home, however, and went down in order in the final two innings. Adrian Alaniz earned his fifth win and Chris Staudt notched his second save for Vermont, which took two of three at Historic Bowman Field. Williamsport returns to divisional play Friday at home against Mahoning Valley at 7:05 p.m.
