Desoto, TX - Texas Tycoon Jai Pradia has been selected to play for the USA in the FIBA Americas first edition of the "Americas League" to take place in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico. In a press conference held in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Julio Subero, President of the FIBA Americas League announced that the best teams from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, and Uruguay as well as professional minor league teams from the USA will participate. With this being the first edition of the FIBA Americas League the PBL has put together a team for the USA consisting of the best players from a number of different US minor leagues, including the ABA. Jai Pradia an explosive, high octane forward, from the ABA Texas Tycoons has been selected to participate for the USA.
Texas Tycoons Owner Charles Key was quoted as saying "We always love to see players who have developed with our team and organization move on to play at a higher level, and further their career. The Texas Tycoons are committed to helping our young players gain exposure, and opportunities to play at the next level. We are really proud of Jai, and the opportunity he has to represent the ABA and the Texas Tycoons as well as the USA on an international platform."
The FIBA Americas League is one of the first opportunities for US minor league players to compete for the USA against other countries in a truly international league. The Texas Tycoons 4-1 this season are considered to be one of the best minor league franchises in the US. Jai Pradia will represent the team on behalf of the USA in international play; Pradia helped lead the Texas Tycoons to the ABA championship game last season, and a record of 25-5.
