Colorado Crush News Release
DENVER - The Colorado Crush have activated wide receiver/defensive back Willis Marshall and offensive/defensive lineman Tank Reese from injured reserve and placed OL/DL Maurice Anderson, WR/LB Darcey Levy and WR/DB Jabir Walker on injured reserve, the team announced today. The roster moves leave the Crush at the league minimum of 20 players on the active roster.
Marshall (5-9, 197, Youngstown State), in his second season with the Crush and fifth in the AFL, is the team's third-leading receiver with 196 yards on 12 catches and one touchdown in four games. Marshall was placed on injured reserve with influenza on February 26 and missed the Crush's 49-30 win over Los Angeles on Feb. 27. Per league rules, a player placed on injured reserve must miss a minimum of two weeks, but because the Crush had a bye last week, he was eligible to return to the lineup for the game March 12 at Nashville.
Reese (5-11, 294, Kansas State) started at nose guard in the first two games of the season, but missed the last three games with influenza. Reese totaled 2.0 tackles in two games, and recovered a fumble for a touchdown in his AFL debut at Orlando on January 30.
Anderson (torn ligament in right index finger), Levy (influenza) and Walker (strained right hamstring) must miss at least two games per league rules. Each will be eligible to return to action when the Crush travel to Dallas on March 25.
Both Levy (6-2, 200, Pittsburgh) and Walker (5-11, 185 Murray State) made their AFL debuts in the win over Los Angeles. Levy is a Denver native and played high school football at Montbello H.S. in Aurora, Colo.
The Crush host the Columbus Destroyers at Pepsi Center at 1 p.m. on Sunday, March 20. The game is Kid's Spring Break, where for every adult ticket purchased, a youth ticket (ages 17 and under) can be purchased for just $1. Tickets can be purchased by visiting the Pepsi Center box office, calling (303) 830-TIXS or logging on to ticketmaster.com.
