
Crouch Saves the Day for Razorsharks

Rochester point guard Jerice Crouch almost single handedly held off the Saint John Mill Rats in a frantic final minute of play. The RazorSharks came away with a hard fought 110-108 victory before a crowd of 2,130.
The win puts Rochester (6-7) right back in the thick of the Premier Basketball League playoff race, a half game behind Saint John (6-6).
The RazorSharks led at each quarter but the game was close throughout. Rochester was ahead by as many as nine points several times. The Rats owned the lead once at 52-51 in the second quarter.
Nursing an 88-80 lead after three quarters, Rochester almost lost it down the stretch. Saint John rallied to trail 107-105 in the final half minute. With 17.8 seconds left and the Rats down 108-105, Crouch stole the inbounds pass and was fouled. He made five of six free throws and scored 7 points in the game's final minute.
Sammy Monroe was high man for the winners with 21 points. Jared Carter added 17 with 11 rebounds. Keith Friel found the range again scoring 17 on 5 for 11 shooting. Crouch wound up with 16 along with 6 assists.
For the Mill Rats, Marc Egerson had a game high 22 points including a three pointer at the buzzer. Anthony Anderson and Steve DeLuca had 19 points each.
Rochester won the game at the free throw line making making 27 of 33 free throws. Saint John was 14 for 18, a swing of 13 points.
The RazorSharks host PBL leading Lawton-Fort Sill (12-1) on Sunday. The Cavalry beat the RazorSharks in overtime ten days ago. The Mill Rats return home to host Kentucky (5-9) Sunday.
