September 22, 2004 - arenafootball2 (af2)
Bakersfield Blitz News Release

Bakersfield, Calif. – The Bakersfield Blitz have initiated a Season Ticket Drive to judge interest in keeping the arenafootball2 team in Bakersfield for 2005. A goal of 1,500 season tickets has been set before the team can commit to the 2005 af2 season. This amount needs to be reached by October 13, 2004.

With the Blitz future here in Bakersfield up in the air, a season ticket drive will have a large role in whether arena football will remain in the Golden Empire. The season ticket drive will begin immediately, and gives fans the chance to reserve a seat for the 2005 af2 campaign here in Bakersfield for just $50 apiece. Should the football team not play in 2005, all deposits will be fully refundable. If the team does return for 2005, those placing deposits will be considered season ticket holders, and the process of seat selection will take place at a later date, with those putting their deposits in earliest getting first choice of location.

"This ticket drive will go a long way in determining the future of the Blitz," said Bakersfield Sports Entertainment President Matthew Riley. "A positive turnout will show the league, our organization and potential investors that the fan base is here to support the team. Without a strong core of season ticket holders, the Blitz cannot exist in Bakersfield."

Area residents and businesses wishing to keep this community asset alive should go to the Blitz official website, www.bakersfieldblitz.com, and follow the main link to place a deposit for $50 per seat on a secure online team order form. Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express are all acceptable forms of payment through PayPal, while a PayPal account is not required to place your deposit. Season ticket packages include all eight home games during the regular season plus one home playoff game and the annual Blitz Bowl High School All-Star arena game.
