
Crawdads Announce Front Office Promotions

HICKORY, N.C. - The Hickory Crawdads, South Atlantic League affiliate of the Texas Rangers, announced on Thursday that Sales Representatives Kathryn Bobel and Kimberlea Scercy have both been promoted to Co-Director of Group Sales, while Assistant Director of Food and Beverage Rosie Caldwell has been promoted to Director of Catering.
Bobel, 23, originally joined the Crawdads in January, 2008, as a seasonal sales representative and is entering her first season as a full-time member of the Front Office. Bobel graduated from Bowling Green State University in December, 2008, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Sport Management and Business Administration. She previously served as a guest relations game-day staff member for the Indianapolis Indians in the International League (AAA) from 2005-08, as well as an events and broadcasting intern for USA Track and Field during the summer of 2008. Bobel is from Indianapolis, Indiana, and currently lives in Hickory.
Scercy, 22, is entering her third season with the Crawdads and first as a full-time member of the Front Office, after spending the last two campaigns as a seasonal sales representative. She recently graduated from Gardner-Webb University in May, 2009, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Sport Management and a minor in Interdisciplinary Studies. Scercy was a member of the Runnin' Bulldogs Varsity Soccer team during her three years at Gardner-Webb, and currently coaches soccer for the Catawba Valley Youth Soccer Association. She is a native of Denver, North Carolina, where she currently resides.
Caldwell, 39, is also entering her third season with the Crawdads and first as a full-time member of the Front Office. She joined the Crawdads in April, 2008, and has served as assistant director of food and beverage for two seasons. Caldwell has gained extensive management experience throughout her 15 years in the food industry. A native of Fayetteville, West Virginia, she has lived in Hickory for 20 years, and currently resides with her two children -- Ariel, 15, and Alexa, 10.
