The return of Cranmer will bolster Jamie Sheetz's lineup. The native of Newport appeared in 49 games, including 48 starts last season. He was named First Team All South Atlantic Conference this spring, during which he hit .368 with ten home runs at Newberry College.

Ott returns to the Morehead City outfield in 2013. He missed just one game last season, appearing in a team high 54 games, including 53 starts. In addition to tracking down fly balls in the outfield, Ott also was among the team leaders in average with a .270. Defensively, he had six assists and didn't commit an error all season. This season at Eastern Michigan, Ott has a team high .342 average.

In addition to the position players making a return to the squad this season, pitchers William Prince (RHP) and Ben Fuchs (LHP) return to hill for the Marlins this season. Both pitchers spent the majority of last season in the bullpen with a combined 32 appearances. Prince finished the season with a 3-1 record, and had a team high seven saves while holding a 2.49 ERA. Fuchs appeared in 16 games, including three starts and finished the season with a 1-1 record and a 3.24 ERA.

The Marlins open their season on May 28 on the road against the Fayetteville Swampdogs. The home opener is on May 29 at Puck O'Neal Field at Big Rock Stadium against the Forest City Owls.
