RiverCity Rage News Release

Former Rage Quarterback Clay Groefsema has moved to AF2, and will be playing for the Central Valley Coyotes.

Groefsema became the Rage Quarterback in 2005, after being a backup in 2004. During his time in college, he was named as a Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference All-Star. After college, Groefsema played in Germany under former Rage Head Coach Mike Wyatt, before coming back to the United States in 2004 with Wyatt. In 2005, Groefsema led the Rage to the NIFL Atlantic East Division title. Last season, he was sidelined with a leg injury, before coming back in the playoffs.

"My time with the Rage franchise is something I'll never forget," said Groefsema. "This franchise means the world to me and I know great things are in store for them."

"Even after his injury, Clay was at every game cheering on the team, and made it out to most every practice," said Rage General Manager Matt Jones. "I know he will make the most of this opportunity, and I wish him the best."
