Central Valley Coyotes News Release

Promising to deliver lots of passing, wild catches and hard-hitting action, this National West divisional game showcased three of the leagues' best players, WR/DB Lamonte Jones (Central Valley), QB Scott Rislov (Central Valley) and WR/DB Kenyatta Morgan (Stockton). Coming into the game, Rislov topped the league with 78 touchdown passes this season. Jones and Morgan, once teammates, now faced each other on the opposite side of the line. The first contest between the two teams saw a game lacking defense as each ball club seemed to score at-will and rack up penalties, but they pulled a different page from the playbook tonight. Neither team allowed the other an edge as they headed into halftime pretty evenly matched, 26-23.

Jones started the third quarter making a statement by intercepting a deep pass from Lightning quarterback, Josh Blankenship. However, on the next play, Stockton's Clyde Surrell intercepted an end zone pass from Rislov to Marvin Brown. The Lightning capitalized on that play with a 32-yard touchdown to take their first lead of the game, 30-26.

Going into the final quarter, the Coyotes were playing catch-up. With just 43 ticks left on the clock, the Coyotes came howling back with a sudden 30-point scoring surge. Donyell Booker first rushed for a touchdown and then immediately added to their lead with a huge sack in the end zone resulting in a safety for the Coyotes. Vai Notoa joined the party and rushed for touchdown giving Central Valley a twelve point lead to give them their fourth win in a row, 58-46.
