Cowick, Godfrey Assigned to Jackals

The Elmira Jackals announced on Thursday that forward Corey Cowick and defenseman Josh Godfrey have been assigned to the club by its AHL affiliate, the Binghamton Senators.

Cowick, a second-year pro from Gloucester, Ontario, scored eight goals and added five assists for 13 points in 22 contests with the Jackals in 2011-2012 while accumulating 11 points (5g-6a) in five contests with the B-Sens this season.

Godfrey, a fourth-year pro, scored a goal and posted two assists for three points in five games with the Jackals in 2011-2012. A native of Collingwood, Ontario, Godfrey has scored two goals and has added six assists for eight points in 38 contests with Binghamton this season.

The Jackals host the Reading Royals this Friday, Saturday (if necessary), and Monday (if necessary) in the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals, with all contests beginning at 7:05 p.m. Tickets for Elmira's home games in the first round are on sale now.
