Carolina Courage News Release
Morrisville, NC (December 11, 2002) - The Carolina Courage reported today that season ticket sales for the upcoming 2003 season have already surpassed the mark set in 2002.
The Courage, having won the regular season title and the Founders Cup II championship this past year, is enjoying the rewards of a successful season.
"At this time, over two thousand season seats have been sold for next year," said Carolina Courage Vice President Buckley Andrews. "That eclipses our total for last season, and we are just now entering our busiest time."
Sales have been brisk of late, with the bulk of these sales occurring during the two-week period following Thanksgiving.
"Seats to Courage games make a wonderful holiday gift," explained Andrews. "Parents are always looking for a way to spend quality time with their children. Courage season tickets are the perfect present."
As added incentive, the Courage is offering new season seat holders a special edition autographed 2003 Carolina Courage calendar if they place their order before January 6th.
The hottest tickets are seats in the club section of SAS Stadium, where fewer than 200 seats remain. Midfield seats in the premium section are also being snatched up quickly.
Local corporations constitute a growing percentage of the new season ticket purchasers.
"Companies in the Triangle are discovering the value of tickets to Courage games as a means of entertaining clients and rewarding employees," said Andrews. "As far as the timing of this spike in sales, it may be explained by these corporations' desire to make tax-relieving expenditures before the New Year."
The Courage will begin its defense of the Founders Cup trophy on April 5th against Mia Hamm and the Washington Freedom, in a rematch of Founders Cup II. Season seat packages start at just $95 for the entire 12-game package.
