
Courage Midfielder Hege Riise Suffers ACL Tear

Morrisville, NC (April 22, 2003) - Carolina Courage midfielder Hege Riise suffered a complete tear of the anterior cruciate ligament in her right knee, an MRI test revealed. The injury was incurred in the 32nd minute of Boston-Carolina match on Saturday night.
The timetable for Riise's rehabilitation, 4-7 months, leaves open the possibility of her participation for Norway in September's Women's World Cup in China.
The Carolina Courage will hold a press conference call tomorrow at 3:00 pm (EST) to address questions from the media. On the call will be Courage midfielder Hege Riise, Head Coach Jay Entlich, and Head Athletic Trainer Cody Malley, MA, ATC-L.
