County Executive Proclaims Eastern Standard Time to Now be Known as Crunch Time

Syracuse, NY (April 19, 2012) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that Onondaga County Executive Joanne Mahoney has proclaimed that Eastern Standard time zone (EST) will now be known as Crunch Time (CT), in honor of the club's return to the Calder Cup Playoffs on Friday, April 20, 2012.

The proclamation reads, "whereas, when the playoffs begin on Friday and Saturday night at the War Memorial we all will be keeping up with 'Crunch Time' which represents fast-paced, exciting professional hockey.'

"It's time for all Central New York to rest their emotional, psychological, and physical clocks to Crunch Time," said Crunch owner Howard Dolgon. "Enjoy every second, minute and hour of our mission possible playoff run."

The Crunch open the 2012 Calder Cup Playoffs with a best-of-five series against the St. John's IceCaps which preside from the Newfoundland Standard time zone (NT). Games will be played at the War Memorial Arena in Syracuse on Friday, April 20 at 7:30 p.m. (CT) and Saturday, April 21 at 7:30 p.m. (CT).
