Prince George Cougars News Release
PRINCE GEORGE, BC - The Prince George Cougars aim to increase communication between fans and the Cougars organization as they launch a new Facebook page on April 17th. Facebook users who "become a fan" of the Prince George Cougars Hockey Club page by Thursday, April 30th will be eligible to win 11 tickets to a night in the Cougars suite during the 2009/2010 season. Five other Facebook fans will take home merchandise from The Cougars Store. The winners will be announced via the new page on May 1st.
Unlike a Facebook group, which the Cougars were previously using, a Facebook page can only be created by an official representative of a company or brand. In addition, the page will offer a better experience for Cougars fans with applications such as notes, allowing the Cougars to engage visitors with more content.
"Our Facebook group was a great tool over the past season, but there are other Cougars groups so to differentiate we're creating this page as the official source of Cougars information on Facebook," said Cougars Vice President, Brandi Brodsky. "We want to adapt to the changes in the marketing landscape and reach out to potential fans that we may not be connecting with through our traditional marketing."
The page can be accessed through www.pgcougars.com or by searching Prince George Cougars Hockey Club on Facebook.
