The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers outhit the Kane County Cougars 11-9 on Sunday evening. But, the Cougars beat the Rattlers 5-2. Vasili Spanos homered and drove in three runs for Kane County and Steven Bondurant won his Midwest League leading eleventh game of the season.
Kane County (49-31 overall, 6-5 second half) loaded the bases with no outs in the bottom of the first inning but only scored a pair of runs. An RBI single by Spanos and a run scoring fielder's choice by Kory Wayment put the Cougars up 2-0 early in the game.

But, Spanos hit a two run homer off reliever Austin Bilke in the bottom of the eighth inning to open up a 5-2 Kane County lead.
The Rattlers got the tying run to the plate in the top of the ninth against Jose Corchado, but Corchado picked up his first save of the season by getting out of the jam.
Game two of the series is Tuesday afternoon. Nibaldo Acosta (4-8, 4.24ERA) will start for the Rattlers. Brad Knox (8-3, 2.25ERA) will start for the Cougars. Game time is 2:00pm.
