Lubbock Cotton Kings News Release
LUBBOCK - The Lubbock Cotton Kings Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Kirk Tomlinson announced today the signing of defenseman Josh Reed.
"He is a big strong guy with rookie status," said Tomlinson. "He will help the roster now while Mike Brusseau (IR), Chris Duggan, (IR)*, Craig Binns (SPD)**, and Jim Shepherd (SPD) are out of the lineup."
Reed, 6-3, 200-pounds, played college hockey for the Univeristy of Massichusetts in Lowell. In 107 games with Umass-Lowell, Reed posted nine goals and 30 assists. He also had 94 penalty minutes in that span.
Reed, a native of Vernon, B.C., was selected in the sixth round (#172 overall) in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft by the Vancouver Canucks.
Reed practiced with the team today and will be in the lineup tonight.
Season tickets for the coveted gold level are still available by calling 747-PUCK(7825). Single game seats are also on sale.
