Michael Bevilacqua finished with one point to lead the Corpus Christi IceRays to a 3-1 victory over the Topeka RoadRunners.
Corpus Christi excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances.
Corpus Christi also had goals scored by Andy McGlynn and Ryan Cusin, who scored one goal each. In addition, Corpus Christi received assists from C.J. Valerian, Brad Power, and Drake Lindsay, who contributed one each.
Topeka stifled the IceRays' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.
The RoadRunners were led by Matt Jennings, who scored the team's only goal. Jennings scored 10:14 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Quinn Preston picked up the assist.
Corpus Christi's Graham Hunt stopped 24 shots out of the 25 that he faced. The IceRays incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Vladimir Cibulka rejected 14 shots on goal for Topeka. The RoadRunners incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
